Team, Technology, Taxonomy: Tools for Digital Transformation
In this SPE Tech Talk, Thomas Hewitt and Meghan Davies from Viridien's Data Hub group share insights from their digital transformation journey. They also speak about their experiences in building and growing a diverse technology team.
Thomas Hewitt
Head of Viridien Data Hub
Thomas is head of the Data Hub group, providing digital transformation and expert data curation services and technology. He began his career as a geologist with a strong interest in technology and in 2016, he led the digital transformation of our extensive geological multi-client library to create GeoVerse™, helping to design the industry-leading subsurface data model and taxonomy. The success of this project, and recognition of the wider data challenges faced by industry, led to the creation of the Data Hub team in 2019, which Thomas continues to lead and grow.
Meghan Davies
Head of Data Hub - Eastern Hemisphere
Meghan joined Viridien, formerly CG in 2013 as a graduate geoscientist focusing on frontier exploration. Helping to establish Data Hub, she enjoys working alongside subject-matter experts, data scientists and software engineers to solve clients' digital transformation challenges. Today, Meghan is responsible for people and projects and is passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive environment to enable talented people to innovate and succeed.
