After a year of “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” Viridien’s UK teams have done a bit of “Walking on the Moon”
Over 100 of our UK employees completed a sponsored walk to collectively travel the equivalent of the Moon’s circumference in a lunar month: 6,783 miles between the 11th of February and the 12th of March!
The money raised was for two mental health charities — part of Viridien’s recognition of the importance of mental wellbeing, particularly in the light of Covid’s consequences.
Our Moon-walkers logged their mileage via an app which posted a running (well, walking) total on an internal social media site.
As organizer Natalie Goodchild from our Crawley office says, “As well as raising money, our teams got exercise, virtual interconnection and a chance be part of Viridien’s commitment to mental wellbeing. I also had songs by The Police in my head for much of February, which put a retro-smile on my face too!”
